Meal Prepping is Evil
How was everyone's Labor Day weekend? This is the unofficial end of Summer but if your like me and live in a "Summer" place year round it doesn't really matter. I wish it wasn't the case because I enjoy the cold so much but what I really enjoy the most is "fall fashion". Unfortunately for me there is not much of that here in Miami. I think that is why once the temperature drops one degree you will see most of us fashionistas bring out all of our boots and sweaters.
I know that school is also back in session which means craziness for everyone. Even if you don't have children like me, there is still the crazy traffic that comes along with it. Which means waking up about 30 minutes earlier in order to get anywhere on time. Along with that comes the stress of eating on the go. However, most things that you can pick-up at fast food aren't really the healthiest options and if your running out the door you really don't want to be cooking eggs and oatmeal...am I right? I have an answer to your problem that will actually HELP you succeed with your FITNESS goal ...why don't you meal prep?
Many people have a misconception that meal prepping is evil especially in the fitness world. That it only consists of tilapia and asparagus. It also associated with having a strict diet and no social life. However, this is not the case.
Meal prep is good to succeed in your plan. However, the difference between a good plan and a bad one is not eliminating everything. That is basically why meal prepping has a bad rep.
I wrote a blog post earlier this year about MEAL PLAN V.S. IIFYM and which one is better to lose weight. The benefit that meal planning has is that planning your food ahead of time leads to success. You can have your meals ready and packed up in your fridge and that way it is easier to just grab and go. I always prepare everything the day before. This is something I do all the time because at the end of the day this is not a diet its a lifestyle. You have to do something that is sustainable.
