The Importance of Water

We’ve all heard it a million times from our Doctor, trainers, esthetician and parents….DRINK MORE WATER.

Some of us will do it without even hesitating, while the other half think the water made from coffee is good enough. But, whether you understand this or not, drinking water is so important.  Not only does drinking water save you money (he prices of coffee at Starbucks can get ridiculous!) but there is valid proof and research as to why we should all drink more water:

  1. Water is the purest substance of life. Life on earth would not exist without water. We must constantly be adding fresh water to our bodies in order to keep it hydrated and working properly. Water can be a miracle cure for many common ailments such as headaches, fatigue, joint pain, and much more. We can go for weeks without food, but only 3 days without water!

  2. Our bodies are made up of 80% water.

  3. Our bodies do not get water from any other source other than water itself. Soft drinks and alcohol steal tremendous amounts of water from the body. Other beverages such as coffee and tea are diuretics and therefore, steal precious water from the body.

  4. Drinking water flushes toxins from the body, especially in the digestive tract. .

  5. Water suppresses the appetite naturally and helps the body metabolize stored fat. Studies have shown that a decrease in water intake will cause fat deposits to increase, while an increase in water intake can actually reduce fat deposits. **[site this source here]

  6. Staying hydrated keeps you alert and prevents fatigue. Next time you’re tempted to reach for the coffee, try drinking more water and see how much natural energy you gain!

    I hope these tips motivated you to start drinking more water! I always aim to drink a gallon a day, but starting off with 3-4 liters would  be a great start!
