Top Ab Exercises

Its Summer time! that means short-shorts, bikini tops and ABS!

I usually get tons of requests from followers and clients to post more Ab content around this time. I am going to comply, but you have to remember that your abs won’t show unless you have low body fat. What does that mean? You have to lean out by entering into a caloric deficit, I can help you with that if you’d like to send me an email at monikapaezmanagement@gmail.com. You will also need to start incorporating cardio into your routines and hitting your macros daily.

Remember, a while back there was a craze going on on social media about “Abs are made in the Kitchen”? Well, that's only partially true. Just like any muscle group, you’ve got to build your abs. Working out once in a while is not going to build them. Think about it, do you train glutes once in a blue moon? The answer should be NO! You will never gain any muscle tissue like that. Usually you want to train a stubborn muscle part or one that needs to grow about 2-3x a week…..so why not abs?

Typically you can train abs every other day and at the end of your workout. However, most of us end up skipping abs all together because we are tired and just want to get out of the gym. This is why I like to incorporate the following moves into my workout and that way I get it done and don’t have to spend extra time at the gym.

1. Planks: 3 sets of 1 min each. ( You might not be able to get to 1 minute when you start so start off with whatever you can and 1 minute should be your goal.)

2. Dead bug: 3 sets 20 each side

3. Hollow Hold: 3 sets 1 min each. ( You might not be able to get to 1 minute when you start so start off with whatever you can and 1 minute should be your goal.)
