Congratulations! You made it from your office to the gym and skipped out on binging Netflix.  You’re working on your form and killing it in the weight room.

The days pass and you’re not as eager to go to the gym anymore, you’ve lost your motivation and drive. You see yourself finding excuses to not go and would rather be working late than at the bar, the iron bar I mean. This is normal and even happens to me. But I know that everyone is not as passionate about it and isn’t easy to just jump right back on it and shake it off. So today I’m going to share some tips that can help you stay motivated and accountable to get your workouts in.

  1. Pencil it in. Schedule your workouts in your calendar like you would any other appointment or meeting.

  2. Mention it to the world. Announce on social media what your goals are and tell your audience to help you stay accountable.

  3. Surround yourself with positive people. You know those negativity nancy’s that we all have in our inner circle, well now is the time to either have a convo with them if they can be supportive or just kick them to the curb.

  4. Keep a workout journal. It's easier to lose motivation at the gym but if you write down every workout and weight you use, it's a great way to look back and see how far along you’ve gone.

  5. Friendly competition. It's always fun to have a friendly competition among your friends, spouse or family. You can see how does the most push-ups over the course of 8 weeks for instance.

What are some things that keep you from working out?
