How to Plan a Yoga Party

It’s November, which means I will find every excuse to celebrate my birthday all month long. I’m not even kidding though, I’ve literally celebrated every weekend. It has gotten to the point that people will message me and say “is it today?”. Unfortunately, no. My actual birthday is November 25th (only 5 days left)!

The first weekend in November we did a cycle party, the weekend after we did dessert and a movie, and last weekend was the long awaited…Yoga Party. Ok well, maybe I was the only one that couldn’t wait for it to finally come. I had started planning it since September. So why a yoga party? I really have no idea haha. I always like to think outside the box and my birthday is no different. I don’t drink so I’m not going to do the whole club thing and I eat dinner every day so what’s so different about that. I wanted to bring my world of fitness into my friend’s and family’s lives but nothing too intense. I then saw an ad for Yoga and thought, why not throw a yoga party!!? And that is how it all began.

I know yoga parties aren’t really the norm so there really isn’t anything to go off of but is there the right way to do a party? First things first, I knew I wanted to stick to light and healthy foods since we would be doing yoga and I didn’t want anyone throwing up. I didn’t want to fuss with a sit-down meal but still wanted something casual yet chic. I came across a friend’s baby shower pictures and she had a charcuterie table… that was it! I added in some acai bowls and chia seed pudding to stick with the yogi theme (who doesn’t love going to a yoga class and then going to grab an acai bowl with your girlfriends?)

Charcuterie tables look so expensive but if you do it smartly, you end up spending a lot less than a sit down meal. Honestly, it’s just a whole bunch of different foods thrown together but in a graceful way, that’s where my friend Coco Michelle and my niece Sabrina come in. I bought all the stuff and they made it look nice.

Here’s what I got for the Charcuterie:

  • Ham

  • Salami

  • Proscuitto

  • Brie Cheese

  • Gruyere Cheese

  • Muenster Cheese

  • Trader Joes Tuscany Cheese

  • Olives

  • Dried Figs

  • Dried Apricots

  • Rosemary

  • Nuts

  • Hummus

  • 3 different types of Artisan Bread

  • Baby Carrots

  • Mini Bell Peppers

  • Cucumber

  • honey

  • Fig Jam

  • Crackers

  • Grapes (make sure it’s with the vine)

  • Celery

  • Dried Cranberries

  • Dried orange slices from Trader Joe’s

  • Caramel Popcorn

  • Chia Seed Pudding*

  • Tuna Salad Cones*

You should get different size tier serving trays and lots of wood cutting boards in different shapes and sizes. You will also need some mason jars, and tin buckets to give it a rustic vibe.

Aside from the charcuterie table, I had an Acai and Mango Smoothie Bowl Section and a Drink Station. We kept the drinks simple with water, Peach, and Mango Bellini’s from Trader Joe’s.

The next thing for the party and probably the most important is to hire a yoga teacher for the class. I mean what would a yoga party be without a yoga class lol. Make sure you have enough mats for all the guests or ask them to bring their own.

I had some goodies for the guests to take home which I feel is a great little touch. I found these off of Etsy and I thought they were perfect for the occasion.

Lastly, what good is a birthday party without a cake! Can you guess what flavor it was? Yup, pumpkin of course.
